Character of the Week: Wonderland Names

This one was a fun, fantasy naming.

Male, he’s the oldest living creature in Wonderland
The Cheshire Cat. Slenderman-esque, able to grow and stretch his limbs to terrifying lengths, un-hinge his jaw and slip his mouth in a Glasgow smile. He’s one of the good guys. He’s very much like a cat: Quietly arrogant, acts like he owns everything when walking in a room, able to look at a King and sit on his throne.

Male, 27, from Wonderland
Adviser to the King (who he has a crush on). Upon meeting him Elena has a long time figuring out if he’s a boy or a girl, so he needs a name that would work for either gender. He’s outwardly kind and gentle; he’s sick and dying from a disease. But he’s very ambitious and fiercely invested in the wellbeing of his King and will do anything for him.

Female, looks to be in her early 20s but is actually in her 30s, from Wonderland
Her parents were a lord and a lady who lived in the palace.
Married to the Red King, King Gabriel.
The Red Queen. Very doll-like. She’s sweet and friendly, and she carries a quiet, unshakable inner strength.

Names of other characters: Elena (the main character), Gabriel who is the Red King, and Tare who is a dormouse in training.

Fantasy

Sometimes naming is so fun, that the time put into it isn’t work but an act of love. Naming the Cheshire Cat (love him!), was one of those.
